Diplomacy and Cooperation Programme
African and Arab countries have vital interests to secure internationally on issues of climate and development, resilience and the green economy.

Our Programme on Diplomacy and Cooperation aims to enhance the climate-ambitious and climate-vulnerable voice from North Africa, as well as from African and Arab countries more generally, in defense of its interests on the international stage.

To manage climate and development, North Africa and other African and Arab vulnerable countries require both financial reforms and support from wealthy countries and emissions reductions from the largest polluting countries, necessitating action from superpowers such as the US, EU and China.

The region's non-state actors have a vital role to play in defense of the region's interests, supporting climate diplomacy by state actors. This includes the introduction of non-traditional perspectives such as those of vulnerable communities or green economy firms.
In general, there is much to be done to improve the representation of climate-ambitious and climate-vulnerable voices from the region in multilateral spaces for diplomacy and cooperation, be they Mediterranean, Arab, African or global processes.
